This reading
task requires test takers to match pieces of information or a set of statements
to a list of options. The options are a group of features from text and are
identified by letters. For example, examinees might encounter matching various
research findings to a list of researchers, or different characteristics to a
list of age groups. There are instances that some of the options will not be
used, and that other options may be used more than once.

1. Check the list of statements and get

you skim the text properly.
2. Skim the text quickly. Find and
underline all the essential points in the text including the names of a person,
dates, and locations.
3. Read the firsts and the lasts paragraphs
of the text. These parts of the text normally indicate the main idea of every
paragraph.
4. If you find a part of the text that
closely matches the main idea of a statement, read it carefully and check if
that portion of the text and the statement really express the same idea.
5. Go to the list of options and check a
statement that matches an option. Use all the vital information and essential
points that you have found in the text.
6. If you are still uncertain about your
answer, move on to the next statement and go back to it later.
7. Once you have matched a statement and an
option, cross out that option to narrow down your choices. Doing this will help
you analyze the list of options quickly.
