Our exposure
to social media and other modes of communication and entertainment makes us
more vulnerable to stress. These various psychological challenges can make your
exam preparation in your IELTS center even more difficult.
Stress is rampant
these days. It can be frustrating; it can make you angry or even nervous.
Learning how to manage stress is not an overnight work. It needs time and a lot
of self-realization.
To help you
overcome stress, here are some tips you could try.
Relax
Your Muscles
When feeling
stressed out, you’re muscles tense up. You can loosen them up by stretching,
having a massage, taking a hot bath, and getting a good night’s sleep. Remember
that if your body is damaged, many kinds of sickness may follow, leading to worse
situations.
Deep
Breathing
Having the
time to focus on your breathing can remove the pressure from your body. Proper
breathing includes sitting in a comfortable position, closing your eyes, and
slowly taking deep breaths. You can also imagine yourself in a relaxing place
or in a place you feel most peaceful.
Take
control
Stress can
be triggered by bad situations that may be hard for you to handle. Finding out
the solution to these problems may help you feel in control, thus lowering your
stress level. It is also essential to say no to additional unimportant
requests. This act of courage may help you reduce your stress level and boosts
your self-confidence.
Talk to
people
Sharing your
experiences is a great way to lower your stress level. Releasing some built-up
tension by talking about it may help you see things clearly. There are times
when stress clouds your judgment and prevent you from seeing the situation.
Keep a
stress journal
Knowing what
stresses you and when it happened can help you avoid stress. It also helps you
become aware of the situations that cause you to become stressed. You can also
develop a better anxiety coping mechanism with this journal.
In reality,
you cannot avoid stress because you don’t know when and how it will happen.
However, how you deal with it is a different story. Remember that you know your
brain and body best, and no one else can fix it better than you.
